Louhintahiekka carried out demanding earthworks, rock blasting and concrete construction for the waste-to-energy plant extension in Vantaa in the capital region.
Louhintahiekka has been involved in the construction of Vantaa Energy’s WtE2 and HWP plants, including earthworks and excavation, area piping, and concrete construction works.
The excavation of the waste bunkers was carried out by line drilling and cautious blasting while the existing adjacent plant remained operational. The rock materials were crushed and repurposed for construction use.
In the HWP project, in addition to excavation and earthworks, we carried out the in-situ concrete work and structural element installations for the waste bunker and boiler building.
