Infrastructure is built to be utilised for tens or even hundreds of years. We create the foundations for people's lives for generations to come.

Well-built infrastructure has significant positive impacts on society. It enables smooth traffic and reliable municipal infrastructure and the development of new neighbourhoods, in addition to promoting technological advancement and job creation.

Urban and industrial infrastructure must be built responsibly in a sustainable manner, maximising value creation for society and minimising negative environmental impacts – in a way that takes future generations into account.

Skilled and happy personnel is our most important asset. Our corporate culture has always been about taking care of our employees.

For us, environmental sustainability is part of healthy business operations, within our own company and globally. Our goal is to significantly reduce our carbon emissions by 2030.

Our carbon dioxide emissions primarily arise from the materials and fuels used in construction. In the reduction of emissions, we believe in the power of actions:

  • Appropriate utilisation of materials, including optimised and efficient material flows
  • Energy-efficient operations, covering optimised transport distances and fleet
  • Replacement of raw materials and other materials with reused or recycled materials and the sorting and minimisation of waste from operations
  • Use of renewable fuels

In addition, it is extremely important to us to protect the soil, air and water, minimise environmental damage and preserve biodiversity, especially in the land extraction and reception areas owned by us.

We always invest inenvironmentally friendly equipment and utilise subcontractors that operate inline with our values.

Good governance is the foundation of sustainability. For us, it means having clear administrative and management systems, monitoring operations and considering the interests of stakeholders.

Louhintahiekka has all relevant  certificates issued by the Construction Quality Association (RALA)  based on the international ISO system. RALA-competence attests to our financial, technical and resource-related competence and reliability as a partner. RALA's quality, environmental and safety certificates, in turn, verify the compliance of our company's quality management system, environmental management system and occupational health and safety system.
