Louhintahiekka will start a significant earthworks project in the Sundsberg area of Kirkkonummi in week 18.
The project involves renovating Sundsbergintie and constructing new streets including Energiarinne, Energiatie, Energiakuja, and Sundsbergin yritystie, along with municipal engineering from stormwater sewers to street lighting. The area will feature the West 51 business park, as well as a planned data center by Microsoft and Fortum's heat pump facility, which will recycle waste heat from the data center into the district heating network of the Helsinki metropolitan area.
The project is highly demanding and multi-phased. It includes several phases requiring Louhintahiekka's specialized expertise, such as street area excavation, soil replacement, soil stabilization, and municipal engineering. Additionally, the project requires strong project management to schedule and coordinate the various participants and phases, says Aapo Lahtinen, CEO of Louhintahiekka.
The total value of the project is €7,5 million and the project is expected to be completed by the end of September 2025.
